What is Value Stream Mapping?
Value-stream mapping (VSM) is a visual representation of every step involved in the material and information flows needed to bring a product from order to delivery. It is a fundamental tool used to identify and eliminate waste. VSM is a material and information flow diagram. VSM is a critical part of identifying opportunities for lead time reduction and increasing capacity.
